You will definitely be spoilt for choices when it comes to food in the bustling Barcelona. Whether you are craving for tapas, american food or even asian food, there is always something for you. Let me get straight to the food recommendations. Prices are based on the average eater portion with drinks.
Cerveceria Catalana

Pasta Salad
One of the top-try in Spain is tapas, tapas and tapas. The prices start from €3 onwards, marginally steeper in the city centre of Barcelona. Looking for a good tapas bar among the locals and tourists? Head to Cerveceria Catalana to check out their menu. You can’t go really wrong when you get both kind of crowds eating here. If you walk in for dinner, be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes before getting a seat. Personally, I walked in on a weekday night and waited for about 40 minutes before I got a seat for 2. The front of the restaurant features a bar layout while the inside has more of a restaurant feel. Service is good and moderately fast given the full capacity of the restaurant. This is where you get “tapasgasm”. Rated highly on Tripadvisor.

Everyday 9AM-1:30AM
Price: €20+ per pax (A few servings of tapas and 1 litre of Sangria)
Beef Tenderloin
Fried Cuttlefish
Prawn skewer
Milk Bar & Bistro
Penny Farthing Pancakes
This is the place to go if you want brunch, mainly American style. Milk Bar & Bistro located off the main street so it is not easy to locate. One recommended way to find it is to mark it on Google Maps and follow the directions. Their mains rarely have anything more than €10. Their portions are really American size which is why it is good for brunch for average eaters, literally brunch and lunch together. On top of that, service and food standards are good. Once again, it is rated highly on Tripadvisor.
Calle Gignas 21, 08002 Barcelona, Spain
Everyday 9am-2am, brunch 9AM-4:30pm, dinner 7PM-12AM
Price: €10+ per pax (2 mains and coffee)
Milk’s fry-up
Bacoa
If you are considering fast food during your time in Barcelona, going to Bacoa is a no-brainer, especially if you are a burger lover. A fast food joint that came up in 2010, I like the open concept of the store. There are outlets in Barcelona and Madrid. Their beef burgers are strictly from Northern Spain, they are really tender and juicy. Fries are they way they should be. Service style is basically ordering at the counter with a menu form and then followed by free seating in the store or take-out. The staffs at this outlet speak good English and are ready to offer help anytime. Rated highly on Timeout and Tripadvisor.
Ronda Universidad 31, 08007 Barcelona, Spain
Everyday 12PM-1AM
Price: €10 (Beef Burger & Fries)
Wok Restaurant
Wok Restaurant is one of the best tasting and affordable Asian buffet in the world that I have been to. I walked in for a buffet lunch on a weekday paying €11 and went out with a tummy full of seafood and sushi. That is more than the amount I had in England for the past 4 months. If you go to any asian buffet in the US, you pay similar prices but with no seafood. The types of food available ranges from sushi to typical Chinese dishes to grilled seafood. What I really like about this particular restaurant is the free flow of grilled seafood. Basically, you pick your choices and hand it over to the cook to grill it. My favourite would be the prawns because they were juicy and fresh, served well with drips of lemon juice. I saw heaps of people going over plates of fries, onion rings and fried chicken. Honestly, I do not think that one should go to an Asian buffet for those food but well, each to their own. This restaurant is totally recommended for those with Asian or seafood cravings.
