A Photography Entry Of Hiking The Great Wall Of China BryanSpero 11 years ago UNESCO World Heritage Site Starting point at Xizharzi village for the one-way hike to Mutianyu. Heading eastwards to Mutianyu. The tour leader and gang. This part of the wall is totally not restored, we almost had the wall to ourselves. The views certainly got better as we went higher. Descending was pretty tough because of the loose sands and gravels. We were literally sliding sometimes. And we had to resort to being on our butts on some parts. Vendors at the end of Mutianyu. Yeah, no entry to visitors but we just came from that side! Denis with his tour leader flag! Certainly cover photo worthy for Louiise! There are options of sliding down or taking the cable car down the wall at Mutianyu. Jinshanling watchtower The way towards Simatai, notice the watchtowers on top of the ridge line at the back. Can’t do without a jump shot ! These pictures were taken during the hike from Jiankou to Mutianyu and Jinshanling to Simatai.
