This part of the wall is totally not restored, we almost had the wall to ourselves.
The views certainly got better as we went higher.
Descending was pretty tough because of the loose sands and gravels. We were literally sliding sometimes.
And we had to resort to being on our butts on some parts.

There are options of sliding down or taking the cable car down the wall at Mutianyu.

That’s awesome…the butt slide reminds me of hiking in chiang mai thailand during monsoon season. BAD idea. Would love to make it to the wall one time.
Mind-boggling when the Great Wall was built..and most of it slave labour in the middle of nowhere..
Wow, these photos are very nice and attractive. These places are so famous in China. Most of the great sights and tourist places are located in and around Beijing like The Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, national museum and the Forbidden City. Now many tourists come to china to enjoy these things. Recently I had gone to China with my wife. We stayed and travelled there one week by help of Greatwall Trekclub.
